I'm not sure if I was expecting her to get up and say "I'm okay!" but I sure didn't get a response.
"HEY, EVERYONE!" I yelled at the top of my lungs, "IT'S ECHO! SHE'S HURT, I THINK!"
My heart beating a mile a minute, I waited to see if anyone had heard me. Sure enough, within 60 seconds Liz coasted in, and immediately knelt by Echo to see what was wrong. She was quickly joined by the rest of the group, with Bunny and Pinky coming in last, breathing hard.
"Is she gonna be okay?" LOL asked Liz worriedly.
"Yeah. She's breathing fine, and she's got a good pulse. But I can't figure out what made her collapse," Liz replied, then seemed to think of something. "Does anyone have a flashlight?"
"Me!" said Bunny, handing it to Liz, who shone it in Echo's eyes.
Liz's mouth made a tight line. "Huh," she said, standing up while supporting Echo, who still appeared to be totally unconscious. "We might need to take her to a hospital if she doesn't wake up within a few hours. It's unnatural that she's out in the first place- there's not a mark on her."
As if in response, Echo's mouth twitched.
"Echo?" Pinky said hopefully, peering at her friend's face.
Echo's eyes blinked open groggily. "Wha- huh? What happened?"
Liz let Echo stand. "Vic found you unconscious. Do you remember anything?"
I squinted through the dark to try to see Echo's expression, but couldn't see much.
"Yeah," Echo said after a pause:
"They were just like us."
